SF Bay Traffic has been an
independent provider of real-time traffic/traveler information
and maps in the Bay Area since 2001. Our software and maps are
truly original, winning us some praise recently in SFWeekly
magazine. Matt Palmquist described our service as:
"sfbaytraffic.com, an ingenious clearinghouse for up-to-the-minute
information on Bay Area highway congestion"
We have received a National Science Foundation Small Business
Innovation and Research award to develop further our personalized
traveler information dissemination system(s).
SF Bay Traffic
was named "Best Workplace for Commuters" by the
US Environmental Protection Agency for two years
in a row. Read the story in the
Sunnyvale Sun.
We offer Personalized
Road Traffic Alerts on your e-mail, cellphone or pager: Ever
felt your life is taken away from you on US-101? Finally, you may be
able to avoid this traffic jam on your way to work in Palo Alto.
While finishing breakfast (or perhaps you're already on the road), you
hear an inconspicuous beep on your cell phone or pager; the screen
reads:
US-101 N At: N RENGSTORFF AVE
accident, 3 lanes blocked
Expected End: 8:30AM
You decide to exit 101 at Lawrence and take Central Expressway
instead.
In fact, this incident was reported by the California Highway
Patrol, THU 11/29/01 7:58AM ; Instantly
SF Bay Traffic sent you a 3-line message to inform you of
the situation.
You probably won't receive this information when listening to the
radio. If the announcer speaks at all about this particular incident
(he or she picks and chooses from a list of probably 30 significant
incidents), it probably will be during the 8:15 traffic update. By
this time, you've already reached the area where traffic is backed up.
More on the reasons why traffic updates on
the radio probably won't help you.
For a small monthly fee, we
dispatch short and accurate text alerts to text-enabled cell-phones, pagers
or simply to an email account,
at the time of the customer's choosing, and relating to his or her
specific commute.
Your cell phone is most
likely already text-enabled. We just need to know your cell phone
number, and who your wireless provider is (ATT Wireless, Verizon,
Sprint PCS, Cingular Wireless, Nextel..). Your cell phone number
won't be given away or used for any other purpose. We guarantee it.
